If your gut could talk, it would ask for this.

Light, cooling, and packed with probiotics, chaas (spiced buttermilk) is one of the simplest ways to support digestion, reduce bloating, and stay hydrated—especially as the weather warms up. It’s been a staple in Indian households for generations, and for good reason: it works.

This quick recipe comes together in minutes and pairs perfectly with lunch—or as a refreshing mid-day reset.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup homemade curd

  • 1 cup cold water

  • 1 inch grated ginger

  • ½ tsp roasted cumin powder

  • A pinch of salt (or to taste)

  • A pinch of black salt

  • A few fresh mint leaves

Recipe

Whisk curd, add water and other ingredients. Mix everything well and serve!

Chaas is rich in probiotics that support healthy digestion, while cumin and mint help reduce bloating and improve gut motility. It’s light, hydrating, and easy on the stomach—making it a perfect everyday ritual.
